Shri K. A. Pandit founder of M/s K.A.Pandit was born on 12.8.1909 in a distant town of North Gujarat namely  Visnagar of Baroda State. With a spectacular career upto Secondary level he graduated in Science Faculty with flying colours in the year 1930. Consequently he was appointed as a Fellow in Gujarat  College of  Ahmedabad in the then Bombay Presidency. He was also associated with the C. N. Vidyavihar

His outstanding career and performance at Gujarat College, attracted the attention of the most valuable and great social, commercial and industrial personality like Shri Kasturbhai Sheth. He was entrusted   with the coaching of his sons particularly in Mathematics.

He simultaneously started  Actuarial Studies and finally attained the Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries, London in the year 1940. He was closely associated with Shri Kasturbhai's family till the time he passed his final actuarial examination upon which he was appointed as Actuary in the Bombay Mutual Life Insurance Society, Bombay. He was probably sixth or seventh person to have attained the Fellowship of London Institute of Actuaries at that time in the country.

The achievement in the academic and vocational field were not all to him. He had imbibed an idea of independent profession mostly from the time he started his higher  studies.

Finally this inherent urge in him compelled him to resign from the Bombay Mutual and start his independent profession as a Consulting Actuary in the year 1943 that is half a century ago when giving up a lucrative job and venturing into the field as a practitioner was not less than an adventure. His determination was firm and well  grounded so he did not move, did not hesitate nor did he submit to many lucrative and  attractive offers made to him subsequent to his resignation from the Bombay Mutual. He started his practice in the Yusuf Building at Flora Fountain at Bombay and    subsequently shifted to Churchgate House, where M/S. K. A. Pandit are now  celebrating their Golden Jubilee Year. With the passage of time his firm resolve made him a Consulting Actuary for about hundred national and international companies until  the time Life Insurance was nationalised in the year 1956. This eventuality was a great blow but it did not make Mr. Pandit nervous or disappointed. He on the contrary  diverted his professional activities to other branches of the field like Superannuation,   Gratuity, Pension and again built up his organisation giving numerous services to not less than about 1700 big and small Industrial and Commercial Units. Not only that with the amendment of the Gratuity Act from 1987, he realised the possibility of expanding  the field of his activities but also opened a Branch at Ahmedabad, which has made possible to extend the Actuarial Services to the door steps of the Units in Gujarat State.
